For travelers seeking depth

For travelers seeking depth, sophistication, and genuine sense of place, Mexico City delivers in remarkable ways.

Last year, we had the privilege of helping create an unforgettable four-day journey into one of the world’s most dynamic capitals. Beginning with check-in at Las Alcobas, an intimate 35-room luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Polanco. Set on the famed Masaryk corridor, the hotel blends refined residential elegance with exceptional service, spa-inspired marble baths, and design by Yabu Pushelberg that makes it feel both sophisticated and deeply personal.
That first night, we stepped into Handshake Speakeasy — not just a great bar, but one that has been recognized as The World’s Best Bar and the top bar in North America. It delivered exactly what its reputation promises: polished, inventive cocktails, theater, intimacy, and a sense that the night could go anywhere.

The next day brought a deeper connection to Mexico’s ancient roots with a visit to the great Aztec ruins, followed by one of the most memorable tastings of the trip: an immersive agave experience with Lala Noguera at Gran Cantina Filomeno, a beautifully restored historic mansion in Roma Norte where guests are guided through Mexican spirits, culture, and tradition with real depth and personality. An afternoon with Lala is far more than a tasting — it is an education in the soul of Mexico. Coming from a family rooted in pulque production and recognized internationally as an ambassador, taster, and judge of Mexican spirits, she brings authenticity, expertise, and unmistakable charisma to every pour.

That evening, the city came alive for El Grito, the great patriotic celebration on the eve of Mexican Independence Day — a tradition centered on the President’s ceremonial cry from the National Palace, followed by music, celebration, and an atmosphere of pride that is impossible not to feel.

The following day was pure Mexico City at its most iconic: an extraordinary visit to the National Palace, home to Diego Rivera’s monumental murals chronicling the history of Mexico, followed by a stunning up-close view of the September 16 military parade, one of the city’s most powerful annual civic spectacles.

And perhaps the biggest takeaway of all: Mexico City is one of the world’s truly great capitals. It is vibrant, cosmopolitan, green, welcoming, and full of grace. It is a city of grand boulevards, beautiful European-influenced architecture, remarkable hospitality, world-class food and drink, and a level of sophistication that deserves to be experienced firsthand.

At GLM Luxury Events, our passion is creating journeys that are not only luxurious and seamless, but rich with Moments that Matter.
