Some journeys are beautiful. This one was transformational.
From the Sacred Valley to the summit of Huayna Picchu, this experience stayed with me long after we left.
We rode the legendary Belmond Hiram Bingham train, explored the Lost City with our shaman and guide Leo, and climbed into the clouds—literally—atop Huayna Picchu. Then we descended the rarely traveled path to the mysterious Temple of the Moon, deep in the jungle and entirely our own.
We ended at the Sun Gate, gazing back one last time before racing down the mountain to meet the waiting Hiram Bingham—our old friend for the 3.5-hour ride back to Cusco.
